Diagnosis of the erudition presented by neurosurgeons in acupuncture and its related techniques

Introduction: Natural and Traditional Medicine is defined by the World Health Organization as the sum total of knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences of different cultures, whether explainable or not, used to maintain health, prevent, diagnose, improve or treat physical and mental diseases. It only has 68 hours of classes in plan E. It is effective in the symptomatic treatment of patients with mild neurotrauma, a hospital indicator that all professionals must meet. Objective: To diagnose the level of erudition presented by neurosurgeons in acupuncture and its related techniques for the care of patients with mild neurotrauma. Method: A mixed, observational, longitudinal, longitudinal, prospective study was carried out at the Miguel Enríquez HDCQ in the period from February 2022 to May 2024 in the neurosurgery service. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical statistical methods were used in a population of 20 neurosurgery professionals to whom three validated instruments were applied. Results: Through the methodological triangulation of the instruments that were applied and the parameterization of the variable professional performance of the neurosurgeon in the application of acupuncture and related techniques in four dimensions and 18 indicators, an inadequate performance in 80% was obtained. Conclusions: It is concluded that the initial diagnosis of the level of erudition presented by neurosurgeons in acupuncture and related techniques for the care of patients with mild neurotrauma is inadequate.
